Alexandra Dienz, geboren 1969 in Innsbruck, lernte mit 5 Jahren bei ihrem Vater Florian Pedarnig Hackbrett, bald auch schon Kontrabass und spielt viele Jahre Volksmusik mit der Familienmusik Pedarnig. Mit 7 Jahren beginnt der Klavierunterricht und ab dem 16. Lebensjahr, im Musikgymnasium das Kontrabassstudium bei Prof. Sorg und Rumer am Konservatorium Innsbruck. Sie schliesst ihr Konzertfachdiplom und IGP mit ausgezeichnetem Erfolg ab und geht zur Weiterbildung nach Wien (Oberschützen) zu Professor Auersperg. 1998 erhält sie den Pembauerpreis in Innsbruck. Ab 1995 lebt sie als freischaffende Kontrabassistin in Wien und beschäftigt sich seitdem fast ausschliesslich mit historischer Aufführungspraxis und Zeitgenössischer Musik. Seit 2018 lebt sie wieder in Innsbruck

Alexandra Dienz ist Mitglied bei PHACE Contemporary Music, Concentus Musicus Wien, Ensemble Prisma, und Die Knoedel, spielt u.a. mit Il Giardino Armonico, Kammerorchester Basel,Klangforum Wien, Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, lautten compagney Berlin, Barucco, Bachconsort,Wiener Akademie .

Alexandra Dienz, born in Innsbruck in 1969, learned to play the dulcimer with her father Florian Pedarnig at the age of 5, and soon also the double bass. She played folk music with the Pedarnig family band for many years. Piano lessons begin at the age of 7 and from the age of 16, double bass studies at the music high school with Prof. Sorg and Rumer at the Innsbruck Conservatory. She completed her concert specialist diploma and IGP with excellent success and went to Vienna (Oberschützen) for further training with Professor Auersperg. In 1998 she received the Pembauer Prize in Innsbruck. Since 1995 she has lived as a freelance double bassist in Vienna and has since then focused almost exclusively on historical performance practice and contemporary music. She has been living in Innsbruck again since 2018
